Student Newsletter Staff

Editor-in-chief

The editor-in-chief compiles all of the articles and creates the newsletter. He or she also leads the meetings, and helps any writer or editor who needs help writing an article for the paper. The editor-in-chief also corresponds with the newsletter advisor, as well as with the principal to get the newsletter approved. Once approved, the editor-in-chief is responsible for getting the newsletter printed and copied, and then organizing members to distribute in the school.

Also helps to recruit and expand the newsletter club. Due to the relatively small size of the newsletter club here at AHS, the editor-in-chief is also in charge of the duties of News Editor, Copy Editor, Features Editor, Sports Editor, Photo Editor, Layout Editor, and Webmaster.

Senior and Junior Editors

Juniors and seniors can become, respectively, junior editors and senior editors. Not only do editors write articles for the newsletter, but editors also help the editor-in-chief edit articles if need be. Responsible for helping the editor-in-chief:

- decide content and overall newsletter design layout

- proof-read articles, such as feature stories, the news section, the sports section, etc.

- edit photos and/or graphics, updating the website

Full-time Writers and Contributing Writers

Becoming a writer is easy! Whether you like to write economic essays to movie reviews, any type of article is welcome! If you plan on joining the club, you can either become a full-time writer on the writing staff, or a contributing writer, who only writes for the monthly newspaper part-time. Reporters are very important and welcome!
